Solihull Op Intercept Update

Op Intercept brief 2

Targeting offenders of burglary, robbery and vehicle crime. Whether they live in Solihull or just come here to commit crime the focus is on arrests, gathering intelligence, visiting known offenders and disrupting criminal activity

Key crime areas have had intensified patrols by Police and partner agencies during the last two weeks. This has resulted in more than a 50% drop in recorded crime within those locations.

Our officers visited over 1000 residents to ask them about the issues in their area, increasing local intelligence which is key to tackling crime in Solihull.

A number of arrests have been made relating to burglary, robbery and vehicle crime and we will publicise those results as the suspects appear before the courts for sentencing. Further arrests were made for sexual offences and assaults.

We have seized a number of vehicles for offences of…..not having a driving licence or insurance and drink driving. One illegal motorbike rider was also arrested after he made off on foot but wasn’t quick enough to get away from officers. Turns out he was wanted for a previous assault on a Police Community Support Officer.

Great results so far and we’ve only just got started! #OpIntercept
